A good end to an otherwise shitty day:
After a fairly brutal chem exam, I got home slept for 2 hours, ate an amazing banh mi sandwich while watching SLC punk (again). I’m still exhausted from pulling an all-nighter, but at least I’m content with life. Something about facing the absurdity of life liberates me from feeling so melancholy constantly, allowing me to be in a state of mind where I can simply exist.

New tool for breaking the epigenetic code →
oldowan:  For the last dozen years, scientists have known that minuscule strings of genetic material called small RNA are critically important to our genetic makeup. But finding out what they do hasn’t been easy. Now a scientist from Michigan Technological University and his team have developed a way to turn off small RNAs and find out just how important they can be.

My Mom: I am supporting Romney because he is a successful businessman and that is what America needs.
In my head: I don't really think shutting down a few underperforming states, selling off the assets, charging them a fee for the privilege, and redomiciling the Federal Reserve to the Cayman Islands will help the economy very much.
What I actually said: That's nice.

Tiny $35 Raspberry Pi computer causes big stir on... →
singularitarian: The tiny $35 Raspberry Pi computer went on sale today, crashing its distributors’ websites on the way to selling out within hours of launch. Looking like little more than a credit card-sized chip of circuit board, the powerful, fully-programmable PC can plug into any TV and can power 3D graphics and Blu-ray video playback. Too bad they’re already sold out T_T
